Must Reads

Product DetailsDesigning Disney's Theme Parks: The Architecture of Reassurance by Karal Ann Marling

Sizable book.  Pages and pages of original concept art from infamous Disney artists.

Product DetailsDisney War by James B. Stewart
Got this for $1 at a library book sale - hardcover with dust jacket!  Lengthy tome. Huge cast of characters. Left me teetering between not liking Michael Eisner or thinking he has a serious personality disorder with flashes of genius. Stewart seemed sympathetic toward Katzenberg and Ovitz.  Poor guys probably cried all the way to the bank.

Product DetailsThe Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World by Susan Veness
Interesting tidbits of hidden and not-so-hidden surprises at WDW. Some are outdated, but all are fun to read about.

The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World by The Imagineers

Slightly bigger than pocket size. Sort of a miniature version of WDI: A Behind the Dreams Look.

Realityland by David Koenig
Easy read that leaves me hungry for more details.  He interviewed scores of people who had wonderful recollections of the building of the Parks.  I'd read this one again.

Since the World Began by Jeff Kurtti
Just bought this 'from the beginning' narrative.  Used, hardcover with dust jacket, $6!

Walt Disney Imagineering:  A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real by The Imagineers
Full original concept art and hand sketches.
